At Valeo Canada’s maple syrup brand, Bernard’s, we have taken significant steps to reduce its environmental impact by implementing improved packaging practices.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we are proud to announce that we have made significant progress towards the goal of recycling 100% of the plastics utilised in our maple syrup production.
Previously, we faced challenges in recycling certain types of flexible plastics, which unfortunately ended up in landfills. However, thanks to a recent partnership established with a recycling company, we have successfully incorporated these flexible plastics into our recycling process. This initiative aligns with the principles of a circular economy, as it enables us to divert approximately 27 tonnes of plastic waste from ending up in landfills each year.
At Bernard’s, we are dedicated to continuously improving our environmental practices and taking responsibility for the materials we use. By implementing this recycling initiative, we strive to contribute to a more sustainable future and reduce our impact on the planet.
